Non-alcoholic beer is becoming more and more popular in Germany. In 2025, the breweries produced around 616 million litres of it. That is 6.5 percent more than the year before. The value of this production is about 696 million euros. The Federal Statistical Office has published these numbers.

Even so, the breweries still produce much more beer with alcohol. In 2025, it is a good 6.8 billion litres, worth around 6.4 billion euros. But this amount has fallen by 5.8 percent. In 2024, it was still about 7.2 billion litres.

The comparison of the two types shows the trend clearly. In 2024, there were still around 12.5 litres of beer with alcohol for every litre of non-alcoholic beer. A year later, it is only about 11.1 litres. So the gap between the two types of beer is getting smaller.

Beer mixed drinks like Radler have also become fewer. Their production fell by 5.7 percent to around 343 million litres. Beer with at most 0.5 percent alcohol counts as non-alcoholic. The statistics only count larger businesses with at least 20 employees.
