Account Deletion

If you wish to delete your Mitlesen account and associated data, you can do so directly within the app.

How to Delete Your Account

To permanently delete your account, please follow these steps inside the Mitlesen app:

• Open the Mitlesen app.
• Go to Settings.
• Tap on Account.
• Select Delete Account and confirm your choice.

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:

• Your account profile (email, username, User ID).
• Your learning progress (stories read, levels completed).
• Saved items (bookmarks, highlights, notes, saved words).
• Personal preferences (settings, theme choices).

What Data May Be Kept

We may retain certain data for a limited time or as required by law:

• Billing Records: Transaction receipts may be kept as required by tax laws or for accounting purposes (e.g., from Google Play or Apple App Store).
• Fraud Prevention: Minimal identifiers may be retained briefly to prevent abuse.
• Backups: Residual copies of data may remain in our encrypted backup systems for a short period (up to 30 days) before being automatically purged.

Deletion Timeline

The account deletion process is immediate. Once confirmed, your access is revoked and your data is removed from our active databases. Removal from backups may take up to 30 days.

Option 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you cannot access the app (for example, if you have uninstalled it or lost your device), you may request account deletion by emailing our support team.

Important: Please send the email from the same email address that is linked to your Mitlesen account. This applies whether you registered with:

• Email & Password
• Google Sign-In (send from your Gmail address)

We will verify your ownership and process the deletion within 7 business days.
